Preparing for a Break
So every now and then something happens to prevent you from running for extended periods of time. I have just undergone a wisdom teeth surgery and am not allowed to run for about a week after the surgery. To prepare for the time I know I’ll be losing I work extra hard in advance. Of course it’s important not to push yourself too hard. For example, I usually run about 3 miles a day but the week before the surgery I ran four to five miles a day. The harder you push yourself the more time your body takes to recover and build up muscle, so a longer time off can sometimes even be helpful. This way the time I take off for my surgery will result in less muscle loss.
