Snowstorm Punches Out Two Snowdays
On January 5th, the biggest snowstorm in the last five years hit the St. Louis area dropping between 11-15 inches of snow all across the area. The snowstorm was only the first knockout punch from this storm. Behind it, the coldest airmass in 25 years moved into the area, causing dangerously low wind-chills as low as -45 degrees. The massive amount of snow, and the cold led to the system to be named “The Polar Vortex”.
The Students of WCA did not mind the Vortex’s bringing, given it gave them two snow-days, and countless memories. School was supposed to start back on the 6th but students did not walk the halls again until the 8th.
Here’s a look at some photos, and tweets that will sure bring a smile to your face:
It is finished #snowday
The road conditions are harder to drive on than rainbow road. They better cancel school tomorrow.
The number of times i refresh twitter increases exponentially on snow days
This ain’t no parmesan cheese #I wish #snow
Even WCA teachers were getting in on the Twitter action:
Thank you @WeAreWCA for a snow day on my birthday! #yourethebest!!!
OK, if @WeAreWCA both (1) calls off school for Tuesday AND (2) responds to this tweet, he gets a signed copy of ‘Litany of Secrets’!
