On March 1, the 4th Annual Westminster Spring Event took place.
“This has been a tradition in westminster for a while. It originally happened in the fall, around carnival time, and used to be the biggest dance the school had.”said Blake Sutphen, Sophomore, S.T.U.C.O. Member .
This event usually gets overlooked because of the nature of the dance.
“Last year I was really reluctant to come because it was my first time participating at the event. This year I was really looking forward to it,” said Sutphen.
At the event, students crowded around the middle of the gym, while a, George Dunbar, directed the dance.
“[George Dunbar] comes from St.Charles and is the head of a local caller society. We found him 4 years ago when he came highly recommended by another caller,”said Susie Pike, Organizer of S.T.U.C.O. The event received a large variety of students from all grades, and from the looks of things, the even will only get bigger.
“I’m hoping things will continue to grow for this event, but if more show up, I’m not sure we are going to have enough room for them,” said Pike.
