Return of the Force
Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens Trailer Released
As the football game went to halftime I began to go full-on nerd. It was time for the thing I had been waiting for all night: the release of the final Star Wars Episode VII trailer. As one of the biggest Star Wars fans ever I knew I would be able to point out every little detail within the trailer.
My eyes were fixed on the screen started showing off the newest characters, Rey and Finn, going through their own personal drama. It is rumored that one or both of them will grow to be Jedi or at the very least have an awesome lightsaber battle. Next, the antagonist of the film, Kylo Ren, popped up, giving an oath to the charred mask of Darth Vader, promising to finish what he started. According to the director, Ren will be leading a cult that follow the guidelines of the old Empire from the first movies on a crusade to bring the dead order back.
If that wasn’t enough, the trailer hit the nostalgia feels. Scenes with Harrison Ford’s Han Solo along with his famous ship the Millennium Falcon made me want to scream out loud. X-wings fighting TIE fighters with new graphics. What may have been Luke Skywalker’s hand on R2-D2. Chewie (but unfortunately, no Chewie roar)!
This trailer made sure fans could expect lots of action, plot, and that good old Star Wars feel. It also makes sure that even the most knowledgeable of Star Wars fans wouldn’t be able to figure out what the heck was going on and therefore, be able to spoil stuff. Thanks to this trailer, people, both fans and newbies alike, are getting excited for what is sure to be the biggest movie of the year.
