This spring at Westminster, the theater department is performing the musical, The Wiz. The Wiz has essentially the same plot as The Wizard of Oz, but has different looking scenes, music, and character names. The Wiz is playing in the theater on April 12th, 13th, and 14th at 7pm. In the musical, you see students from WCA playing main roles. Michael Lee will be playing The Wiz, Jessica Wilson will be playing Dorothy, Chase Mayfield as the Lion, Sean Webb as the Scarecrow, and finally Mark Geisz as the Tin Man. Come see your friends or family members perform!

This musical could be nominated to perform at The Fox in the St. Louis High School Musical Theater Awards. Last year, Natalie Brown won an award at the Fox for Best Supporting Actress in Fiddler On The Roof, so it would be exciting to see WCA show up on the stage again.

On Monday, March 19th, the cast of The Wiz performed a flash mob at lunch for high schoolers and middle schoolers. They performed the song “Everybody Rejoice” and the students at lunch all got into it.
