The Best Beatdown Ever Put to Film
Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice Review
As I sat down to watch this movie, I watched for several things: plot, character development, and soundtrack (technically, I listened for that last one). When the movie started, however, the only things going through my mind were: “OMG, fight fight fight!” etc. This movie blew me away and I couldn’t be more impressed with it.
If you couldn’t tell by the title, this movie is about the Man of Steel taking on the Dark Knight for the first time ever on the big screen. After the fallout of Man of Steel, in which most of Metropolis was destroyed, most of the world is divided between two views of Superman: he’s either a hero or a menace. Batman falls into the latter category along with antagonist Lex Luthor, and both begin to make plans to destroy the Kryptonian hero once and for all. Oh, and Wonder Woman shows up too.
What surprises me most is how much critics attacked this movie. Rotten Tomatoes nearly panned this entire movie with a rating of 32%. However, many audiences members say it’s a welcome wake-up call from the more kid-friendly Marvel movies. The dark tone combined with the amazing fight scenes and stellar soundtrack make this movie a huge contender in the superhero genre.
I can’t even describe the amount of excitement that I felt seeing this movie. Call me a nerd, but this movie is well worth seeing several times. Not only did I get to see three of my favorite superheroes in one movie, but I also got to see the beginning of an entire new universe.
