Emma Woll, junior and first year starter for the girls varsity volleyball team has been nothing short of a stand out player. As an outside hitter she always shuts down the opposing team by having a brick wall of a block and never giving up on a play. Not to mention her performance on offense, she leads the team in kills for the season.
Asking her teammates, they all talk about how Emma’s embodiment of the eighth pillar of Westminster athletes, growing and improving in and out of season. She has made incredible improvement from coming off the bench last year to being a key offensive weapon this year.
She plans to play volleyball at the NCAA Division 2 level somewhere in the southern states if possible. Emma says that she is hopeful and confident that the team can make a playoff run next year. With the rest of her team, Emma plans to do everything she can to win which is what her teammates say is one of her best qualities.
Looking to the next few years and comparing to her past, she has put in the work to earn her star role on the volleyball team. Dedication, hard work, and leadership are all qualities Emma has displayed throughout the season which is why we’re happy to give her the feature athlete award.
