The boys swim team competes at state on November 15th.

This year’s boys swim team made a solid run in state. Despite some setbacks, they gave their best effort and overcame the adversity.

Specifically, at the beginning of the season, several of the players were forced to quarantine, and found it difficult to catch up afterward.

At the end of the season, the team knew that they would need a very fast time to make it to state due to the limited number of swimmers allowed to qualify. They got their best times against MICDS and Vianney and got all of their relays into state.

Despite having low expectations, the boys did exceptionally well in the state meet on November, 15th.

“We broke 4 school records and 7th in Medley Relay and 7th in 200 Free Relay. The coach was very impressed by how much we dropped time, and we were the first team to get relays into the top 8 in the state for Westminster,” said Will Richards, junior.

Although the Cats will be losing a few seniors, their young talent has high potential to fill in these roles and have a successful season next year.

“I will miss the seniors, and next year we need people to step up and swim fast times for next year so we can make it to state,” said Richards.
